Troubleshooting
Most issues come down to a handful of causes. Run through these quick checks first — they catch the majority of problems in under a minute.
Quick checks
Section titled “Quick checks”- Is your key connected? Open Settings → License and confirm a plan is shown.
- Is the language added and active? Settings → General → Language Settings — the language should be listed and toggled Active.
- Has the page been translated? On the Translation → Sitemap, check its progress. Turn on Auto Translate or translate it in the Visual Editor.
- Did you clear your cache? Caching plugins serve old, untranslated copies — clear the cache after translating.
- Are you on the prefixed URL? Translated pages live at
/fr/your-page/, not/your-page/. - Seeing a ⚠ next to a page’s word count? A site login (HTTP password) is blocking a full read — click it to add credentials.
Symptom guides
Section titled “Symptom guides” Translations not showing A page loads in the original language, or some strings stay untranslated.
Content not translating New content, or specific text, isn't being translated.
Caching & optimization plugins Cache plugins serving stale or untranslated pages.
The switcher isn't appearing The language switcher doesn't show where you expect.
