What Is Omnalingo?

Omnalingo is a WordPress plugin that translates your whole site — pages, posts, products, menus, even the text baked into your theme and plugins — into 130+ languages. If WordPress renders it, Omnalingo translates it.

Unlike tools that translate on the fly as each visitor loads a page, Omnalingo does the work up front: it discovers your content, reads every string, and generates the translations before anyone visits. Serving a translated page is then just a fast database read — no live API calls, no rendering penalty, no slowdown.

  • Site owners who want to reach new audiences without hiring a translator for every page.
  • Agencies and developers building multilingual sites that need to stay fast and maintainable for the client who inherits them.
  • Stores and membership sites with dynamic content — products, carts, checkout, member areas — that has to be translated accurately and consistently.

Most translation tools create a second copy of every page for each language — a whole separate German “About” page sitting next to your English one. Omnalingo doesn’t.

It keeps your single original page and makes a translated address for it (like /de/about/). When a visitor opens that address, Omnalingo serves your original page with every piece of text swapped to the target language on the way out — no duplicate post is ever created.

And it translates text in small pieces, not whole pages: each phrase, heading, button, or label is translated once and reused everywhere it appears. So your WordPress stays clean (no piles of duplicate posts), updating the original carries through everywhere it’s used, and your translations live in your own database.

Getting started is mostly automatic — a setup wizard handles the first run:

  1. Set up — pick your languages and content and connect your free Omnalingo API key. The setup wizard walks you through it.
  2. Omnalingo lists your pages — every translatable URL appears in the Sitemap, with a word count so you know the size of the job.
  3. Translate — switch on Auto Translate to translate everything and keep it in sync as you edit, or fine-tune any page yourself in the Live Editor.
  4. Serve (automatic) — when a visitor opens a translated URL, Omnalingo serves the stored translation in milliseconds.

No speed penalty. Translations are pre-computed and stored, so a translated page is served as plain HTML and works with any caching plugin — zero per-visitor overhead.

Page-aware AI. Omnalingo reads each sentence in the full context of its page, so pronouns, idioms, and tone come out the way a native speaker would write them — not word-by-word machine output.

Your translations, your database. Everything is stored in your own WordPress database. Back it up, migrate it, keep it forever — no external service, no lock-in.

No external AI account needed. You don’t connect OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude. Omnalingo runs the AI infrastructure for you and picks the right model per sentence — all you need is a free Omnalingo API key generated inside the plugin.
