Frequently Asked Questions

No. Translations are stored in your database before visitors ever request them. When someone loads a translated page, Omnalingo looks up the pre-stored text and swaps it in — there is no on-the-fly AI call during page load. The performance impact is similar to a lightweight search-and-replace pass on the HTML output, which is negligible on any modern server.

Yes, in almost all cases. Omnalingo scans the rendered HTML of your pages regardless of which theme you use, so it works with custom themes, theme frameworks, and starter themes alike.

The one exception is themes that output certain strings exclusively through hardcoded JavaScript (text that never appears in the initial HTML). Those strings may not be captured during an automatic scan. You can translate them manually using the visual editor.

Yes. Omnalingo is compatible with the major page builders:

  • Gutenberg (Block Editor) — works out of the box
  • Elementor — fully compatible
  • Divi — compatible
  • WPBakery — compatible
  • Bricks Builder — compatible

See the Page Builder Compatibility guide for details on each builder.

That depends on your plan. The Free Forever plan allows one target language total. Pro allows 130+ languages for manual editing — AI auto-translation for each language requires a separate language pack (€3/month each, billed yearly), purchased from the License screen.

Omnalingo’s cloud infrastructure handles AI translation. You do not choose or configure a model — just connect your Omnalingo API key and translations happen automatically. The underlying model is updated on the server side as better options become available, without any action required on your part.

Yes. Manual edits always take priority over AI-generated translations. Open the visual editor or the string list for any page, type your translation, and save — Omnalingo will serve your version from that point on, even if you later re-run bulk AI translation for the same page.

What happens to my translations if I cancel my plan?

Section titled “What happens to my translations if I cancel my plan?”

Your translations stay exactly where they are. Omnalingo stores all translations in your own WordPress database, so they continue to be served to visitors after you cancel. The plugin keeps working in read mode — pages load with the translations already in place. What stops is the ability to generate new AI translations; any content you add or update after cancelling will not be translated automatically until you reactivate a paid plan.

Yes. Omnalingo translates WooCommerce product pages, category pages, the cart, the checkout, and transactional emails. Product descriptions, variation labels, button text, and checkout field labels are all captured during scanning. See the WooCommerce Integration page for more detail.

There are two plans: Free Forever and Pro.

  • Free Forever — includes scanning, manual editing of translations, visual editor, and 1 target language with 2,000 AI-translated words.
  • Pro — €8/month billed yearly. Adds 130+ languages for manual editing, AI Context, Glossary enforcement, and a language suggestion banner. AI auto-translation for each language requires a separate language pack at €3/month each (billed yearly), purchased from the License screen.

There are no other plan tiers. Upgrade to Pro directly from within the plugin via the in-plugin Stripe flow on the License screen.

Can I import translations from WPML or TranslatePress?

Section titled “Can I import translations from WPML or TranslatePress?”

There is no direct import from other translation plugins. When you switch to Omnalingo, it rescans your site and generates fresh translations from your current content.

This is intentional: importing old translation data risks bringing in strings that no longer match your current content, or that were translated with a different context in mind. A fresh scan gives you accurate, consistent translations across all languages.

No. You only need one key: your Omnalingo API key, which you enter in Settings → License. That key covers everything — scanning, AI translation, and cloud features. You do not need an OpenAI key, an Anthropic key, or any other third-party API credential.

When Omnalingo translates a page, the text content of that page is sent to Omnalingo’s cloud servers for AI processing. Omnalingo does not share your content with other customers or use it to train shared models. For details, see the Omnalingo Privacy Policy.

Sensitive pages (login pages, checkout confirmation pages, etc.) can be excluded from scanning entirely using Exclusion Rules.

Does Omnalingo support right-to-left languages?

Section titled “Does Omnalingo support right-to-left languages?”

Yes. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu, and other RTL languages are fully supported. When an RTL language is active, Omnalingo instructs the browser to switch text direction on the translated page. No theme modifications are required.

Omnalingo supports all major world languages covered by its underlying AI model — including all major European languages, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Hindi, and many others.

To see the full list, go to Settings → Languages in your dashboard and use the language search. If a language appears in the list, it is supported for translation.
